What does Medicaid Cover? Medicare Premiums and Deductibles for 2011
Part B (physician) base Monthly Premium $96.40 / $110.50 / $115.40
Part B annual deductible $162
Part A deductible (hospital) per illness $1,132
Part A co-payments: The part A deductible covers the first 60 days of a Medicare-covered hospital stay. They you pay $283 for days 61-90. After the 90th day, your co-pay for lifetime reserve days is $566/day.
Is Your Monthly Income Less Than $1,361? You may be eligible for help with your prescription costs! Medicare beneficiaries who are single with an income of no more than $1,361/mo and assets (stocks, bonds, savings accounts, etc.) totaling no more than $12,640 or married couples with a combined income of no more than $1,839/mo and assets totaling no more than $25,260 may be eligible to receive extra help with their prescription drug costs. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) allows an �ongoing� enrollment period for the Medicare Part D benefit for those who meet these qualifications. Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit Choices Union County Senior Services is here to help! Make sure that you make an informed decision about your coverage options. Call Union County Senior Services at (937) 644-9629 to schedule your free personal appointment with our OSHIIP-Certified counselors. Make sure that you bring any information and letters from any current medical coverage that you may have along with your Medicare card and your prescription information (actual bottles are preferred for accuracy of medication and dosage). If you would prefer to go on-line yourself, visit the Medicare website to input your medication and Medicare information. Medicare�s website will create a chart for you of Medicare Approved Prescription Drug Plans that cover your drugs and give you a breakdown of potential costs. You may sign up on-line or call the toll-free number that will be provided on the print-out.
Prescription Drug Assistance Program Union County Senior Services Prescription Assistance Program has been established to help meet the rising demands of prescription drug costs for Union County Seniors age 60 and over who do not qualify for Medicaid or Medicare Extra Help, but who are unable to afford the prescription drugs they need. In addition to this program, Union County Senior Services will work with seniors to explore a variety of other programs that are available to help them with their prescription drug costs.
