Community Meal Sites
Those who are 60 years or older can enjoy a hot, nutritious lunch among friends at one of the three Community Meal Sites in the Union County area. The Community Meals program features reguar and reduced-calorie lunches prepared daily by Memorial Hospital. The average meal cost is $8, but are provided for a donation only. Transportation is available to Community Mealsites through UCATS.

Durable Medical Equipment Bank
Union County Senior Services accepts and distributes on a first come first served basis durable medical equipment like crutches, walkers, canes, wheelchairs, incontinence supplies, etc. Call Senior Services for more information 937.644.9629.
Emergency Beacons - Union County Sheriff's Office
The Union County Sheriff's Office offers Emergency Beacon Adaptors to Union County seniors at no cost through a Crime Prevention Grant. This simple device converts your porch light bulb or visible lamp to a flashing signal perfect for Emergency Responders. The beacon is very easy to install and is activated by rutning the light switch off and on twice and will remain flashing for two hours. To turn off the device, simply turn the light switch off. Emergency Cell Phones - Union County Sheriff's Office
The Union County Sheriff's Office offers a program that provides emergency only wireless telephones free of charge to Union County seniors. The telephone can only dial 9-1-1 and is to be used in an emergency situation. Contact the Sheriff's Office 937.645.4100 for more information.
Experience Works, Workforce Solutions
If you are looking for some extra income, Experience Works, Senior Workforce Solutions may be right for you. Applicants must not currently make more than 125% of the current poverty level. If you qualify, Experience Works' staff will interview you to match your interests and skills with a community service training assignment. Experience Works is part of the Community Service Employment Program which holds a Federal Grant to match older adults 55+ to local non-profits and government agencies in need of help. Applicants will be paid minimum wage and gain new skills and work experience while training approximately 20 hours a week. After you progress in your training assignment, Experience Works staff will help you turn your newly acquired skills and experience into a full or part-time job. Consider this opportunity even if you: receive Social Security income, haven't worked in a long time, have never worked outside the home, have physical limitations, or do not have a high school education. Kitty Konnection - Union County Humane Society Program for Seniors
Do you have room in your life for a new friend? Consider providing a good home for a local cat. Humane Society volunteers will match seniors with an adult cat who is in need of a home. Volunteers will make monthly contact with you to answer questions and provide assistance if needed. Basic medical attention and transportation for the cat is provided by the Humane Society at no charge to you. Food and litter can be delivered to seniors who may find it difficult to get to the store or lift heavy bags. The cost for the program is only a $10 annual fee to cover vaccinations. The Legal Aid Society offers free legal advice to Union County Seniors 60 and over regardless of income or assets.
