Union County Senior Services is the county agency that provides funding for services such as respite for caregivers as well as services for seniors such as personal care, homemaking, personal emergency response systems, friendly visits, and grocery shopping for homebound seniors among others. These programs are funded by the National Family Caregiver and Title III Grants with additional funds from the Union County Commissioners. The Union County Senior Services office focuses on preventative health. In cooperation with the Union County Farmers’ Market, they provide fresh fruits and vegetables to financially eligible seniors during the growing season and cooperate with the local YMCA to offer Senior Sunrise with free admission to the exercise facility once a week. Senior Services' OSHIIP-Certified staff is available to help with Medicare questions. Seniors can schedule free personal appointments. In-home visits are available for homebound seniors.
